Parbattya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS), in a press release signed by its Assistant Information and Publicity Secretary Sajib Chakma on 1 August 2016, demanded immediate unconditional release of President of PCJSS Bandanban district branch Uchomong Marma and withdrawal of all fabricated cases filed against PCJSS members and innocent persons by the ruling Awami League workers in Bandarban district. Mr. Ushomong Marma has been arrested from his residence of Kalaghata area under Bandarban municipality in Bandarban district at 1:00 am of 1st of August by the police.
It is mentionable that the High Court has granted bail in advance to 10 members of PCJSS including Ushomong Marma in the fabricated abduction case of ruling Awami League member Mongpu Marma in which 38 members of PCJSS and its associate organizations have been accused. Ushomong Marma was arrested on 1 August in a new case when he reached his home after getting bail from the High Court.
It is known that a leader of Awami League from Sualok union under Bandarban sadar upazila named Md. Abdul Karim has filed this case rapidly to Bandarban police station against 11 innocent persons including 7 members of PCJSS who got bail in the abduction case and more 15/20 unknown persons as well. It is to be mentioned that Mr. Ushomong Marma has been arrested before filing this case. So, it is proved that this case was fully false and fabricated which was filed as per a pre-planned to harass politically.
PCJSS condemned the filing said false and fabricated case under which Mr. Ushomong Marma, president of PCJSS Bandarban district unit has been arrested. And, it demanded to withdraw that false and fabricated case and to release Mr. Ushomong Marma unconditionally. Otherwise, local administration as well as Government will be responsible for any unexpected situation.
Besides, a group of military forces from Dighalchari army camp conducted a searching operation at Dighalchari and Bazar area under Rangamati sadar upazila in Rangamati district last night. In that operation, the military searched the house of Mr. Manik Chakma, Land & Agriculture Affairs Secretary of Bilaichari Unit of PCJSS at 1:00 am and the house of Mr. Birottam Chakma, General Secretary of Bilaichari Branch of Hill Students Council (PCP) at 2:00 pm last night. But Mr. Manik Chakma and Mr. Birottam Chakma were absence at their house at that time. The military forces left the house giving an order of attending the above mentioned persons in the army camp. PCJSS also condemns military searching operation and demand to stop such kinds of harassment.
